About me
Erin Rodgers is a partner at Rodgers Selvera PLLC, where she represents writers, artists, creators, businesses, and nonprofit organizations in entertainment, intellectual property, and corporate matters. A native Houstonian, she earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center after receiving her Bachelor of Music in Music Business from Loyola University New Orleans.
Erin has taught college-level copyright and business courses for more than a decade and currently serves as Co-Director of the University of Houston Law Center Entertainment Law Clinic. She also works with Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts to develop educational programming that helps artists and creative professionals better understand the legal and business issues surrounding their work.
In addition to practicing law, Erin is an accomplished musician and multidisciplinary artist. A classically trained clarinetist, she also plays piano, accordion, and guitar and has performed as a vocalist with Dave Brubeck and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. She currently performs with several Houston bands and is a Core Artist with Catastrophic Theatre, where she works as a composer, arranger, and musician.
Erin's experience as both an attorney and working artist gives her a unique perspective on the challenges creators face in protecting their work, understanding their rights, and building sustainable creative careers.
