About me
Bryan “Lucas” Parras is a Houston-born environmental justice advocate, storyteller, and cultural organizer whose work sits at the intersection of community health, equity, and narrative power. Raised in Houston’s East End and shaped by early involvement in Nuestra Palabra where he “found a creative and political home” and learned that “cultural production is inseparable from political struggle”. Parras has spent more than 25 years lifting frontline voices through organizing, media, and coalition-building. A co-founder of t.e.j.a.s. and producer of the award-winning documentary The Condor & The Eagle, he continues to champion community-led solutions and inspire new generations of writers, organizers, and advocates.
